Successful website relaunch for Heckler & Koch

We redesigned Heckler & Koch's corporate website to strengthen the brand image and improve the user experience. The mobile-optimized platform combines modern design with a user-friendly CMS and is prepared for future e-commerce applications.

Shortcuts to the project

As part of the project, we carried out a comprehensive relaunch of Heckler & Koch's corporate website. The aim of the relaunch was to create a modern and appealing look that strengthens the brand image and optimizes the user experience. The new website is based on a mobile-first approach and combines an aesthetically appealing design with technical functionality. Particularly important for the editors was the integration of a user-friendly content management system (CMS) that enables the management of editorial and database-driven content. In addition, the platform was designed to be future-proof and is prepared for e-commerce applications. All content—editorial and generic—can now be maintained with minimal effort and merges into a tangible digital experience on the product detail pages.

Pimcore as a central content hub solution

Thanks to our Pimcore expertise and a well-thought-out visual and conceptual approach, we were able to convince Heckler & Koch of our solution. We used Pimcore as a CMS, PIM, and DAM, which enabled us to develop an extended data model and populate it with raw data migrated from PDF documents. This central database efficiently solved the challenges of compatibility and dependencies between products and accessories. Today, all Heckler & Koch PDF data sheets are generated centrally from this content hub and are available via interfaces for various tasks and output formats, such as the order function on the website.

Stakeholder management and complex data integration

Together with the customer, we worked out the requirements for the website and tried to find a consensus between the various stakeholder interests. This proved to be challenging due to the fragmented database and complex product data, as well as the dependencies between products, variants, and accessories. The sensitive public perception of the company also required special attention.

The seamless integration of editorial and data-driven content has turned the website into a central platform that serves as the content basis for all marketing and sales applications. Editorial information, technical data, and digital assets are consistently available in one place and can be used across channels, ensuring sustainable and consistent brand communication.
