Project shortcuts

As part of the project, we carried out a comprehensive relaunch of Heckler & Koch's corporate website. The aim of the relaunch was to create a modern and appealing look that strengthens the brand image and optimizes the user experience. The new website is based on a mobile-first approach and combines an aesthetically pleasing design with technical functionality. Particularly important for the editors was the integration of a user-friendly content management system (CMS), which enables the management of editorial and database-driven content. In addition, the platform was designed to be future-proof and is prepared for e-commerce applications in the future. All content - editorial and generic - can now be easily maintained and merges into a tangible digital experience on the product detail pages.

Pimcore as a central content hub solution

Thanks to our Pimcore expertise and a well thought-out visual and conceptual approach, we were able to convince Heckler & Koch of our solution. We used Pimcore as CMS, PIM and DAM, which allowed us to develop an extended data model and populate it with raw data migrated from PDF documents. This centralized database efficiently solved the challenges of compatibility and dependencies between products and accessories. Today, all Heckler & Koch PDF data sheets are generated centrally from this content hub and are available via interfaces for various tasks and output formats - such as the order function on the website.

Stakeholder management and complex data integration

Together with the customer, we worked out the requirements for the website and tried to find a consensus between the various stakeholder interests. This proved to be challenging due to the fragmented database and complex product data as well as the dependencies between products, variants and accessories. The sensitive public perception of the company also required special attention.

Positive user experience and continuous optimization

With the completion of the project in February 2023, the client was able to ensure seamless development and reliable service. The new website received consistently positive feedback and offers a great user experience across all devices. In autumn 2024, a joint workshop was held on the annual planning for 2025 to ensure continuous optimization.

Modern website as a central platform

The new Heckler & Koch website combines modern design and intuitive user guidance with high performance. By seamlessly linking editorial and data-driven content, the website has become a central platform that serves as the content basis for all marketing and sales applications. Editorial information, technical data and digital assets are consistently available in one place and can be used across all channels, ensuring sustainable and consistent brand communication.
