Project shortcuts
In our project for TourismusMarketing Niedersachsen GmbH, we created a joint framework solution to highlight the tourism strengths of the Lower Saxony region in a sustainable and effective way. Our goal was to develop a modern, accessible and user-centered website that motivates potential guests to discover Lower Saxony as a travel destination and focuses on the diversity and attractiveness of Lower Saxony as a vacation destination. A central element is the automated connection of destination.data to TYPO3 via the Niedersachsen Hub. This ensures that content is efficiently transferred and continuously updated - for consistent and high-quality data on the website. Parallel to the technical implementation, we fundamentally revised the design and placed particular emphasis on accessibility in accordance with the Barrier-Free Strengthening Act (BFSG) and a high level of user-friendliness. The main website www.reiseland-niedersachsen.de is the central point of contact for visitors. In addition, we have now implemented 21 other websites for destinations in Lower Saxony within the same framework, each of which has its own individual content focus but is seamlessly integrated in terms of technology and design.
All special features at a glance
Plus detail page display
It is possible for destinations to present themselves individually via microsites. This gives even smaller partners with a limited budget a professional presence within the shared system.
Multilingualism
The platform has a multilingual structure and is aimed specifically at various source markets.
Integrated AI solution
The solution integrated in the Niedersachsen Hub supports the automated generation of texts, social media content and image descriptions.
Central data management
All tourism data from Lower Saxony flows together in the TMN Datahub. Images and other media can be used directly in TYPO3 via an existing interface to Digital Asset Management (DAM) in the Niedersachsen Hub - for a consistent, uniform content strategy.
Accessibility
The website is barrier-free in accordance with the requirements of the Barrier-Free Strengthening Act (BFSG).
Optimized usability
The usability of the CMS has been greatly simplified to make maintenance easier for editors and save time. At the same time, users on the front-end side benefit from intuitive usability, fast loading times and search engine-optimized content.
Progressive Web App (PWA)
The PWA offers mobile-optimized use. It combines the advantages of classic websites with those of native apps: fast loading times, offline functionality, push notifications and an app-like user experience directly in the mobile browser.
