Shortcuts to the project
Our goal in advising and developing a new concept for restaurateurs in Hesse was to support digitalization and increase efficiency so that more time could be spent with guests. Together with Teejit, the European Tourism Institute, and Gastro Piraten, we developed a comprehensive communication and consulting concept. The results were evident in a survey: 96% of the businesses surveyed stated that the digitalization consulting had increased their competence in digital customer communication. 54% of all businesses surveyed stated that they had already implemented measures in the area of digital customer communication as a result of the digitalization consulting. A further 33% of the businesses surveyed are already in the concrete planning stage for these measures.
The implementation
Based on the results of market research, we developed an innovative, hybrid consulting concept consisting of personal on-site business consultations combined with topic-specific e-learning modules. In collaboration with tourism stakeholders and partners in Hesse, we then moved on to implementation.
Structure of the learning platform
At the end of the year, we began setting up the learning platform www.gastrodigital-hessen.de.
Promotion of the advisory services
To communicate the offer, flyers were created, articles were published in regional daily newspapers and in the leading medium ahgz (Allgemeine Hotel- und Gastronomie Zeitung), and a video was produced. The cooperation with DEHOGA, Metro, and local consultants was particularly decisive in the promotion.
Evaluation of the results
From March to November 2022, 1,200 on-site consultations took place and the GastroDigital Hessen learning platform was visited around 3,000 times by restaurateurs from Hesse. This was accompanied by a monthly newsletter with practical examples and reports from the participating businesses.
