Hansa Flex migrates to SAP Commerce Cloud

With the support of our SAP experts, HANSA-FLEX migrated instances to the SAP Commerce Cloud to benefit from advantages such as more efficient use of IT resources and greater scalability. The migration required ensuring the compatibility of the source code with the cloud and the connection between the systems involved. Thanks to an agile approach, HANSA-FLEX can now offer its customers an improved shopping experience.

Shortcuts to the project

After the licenses for on-premise hosting of the HANSA-FLEX SAP Commerce instances expired, a new solution had to be found to continue operating the e-commerce platform. In order to remain close to the standard and benefit from future technologies in the SAP Commerce context, we were commissioned to migrate to the SAP Commerce Cloud. One of the challenges was to ensure the compatibility of the source code with the cloud and to migrate existing interfaces. The SAP Commerce Cloud migration, including the replacement of some interfaces, was successfully completed in six months by two of our SAP experts. The successful transition to the cloud not only helped HANSA-FLEX remain in line with the SAP roadmap, but also led to cost savings by replacing on-premise hosting.

Agile to the goal

All relevant stakeholders were present at the kick-off, including SAP consultants and SAP Commerce developers, the customer's IT managers, and many other contacts for the connected systems. We then jointly defined the task packages and structured them into JIRA tickets. The task packages were then prioritized, taking into account resources and time constraints. Finally, quality assurance of the migration in the SAP Commerce Cloud was carried out to ensure that all systems were functioning smoothly.

SAP Commerce Cloud

SAP Commerce Cloud offers numerous advantages over on-premise hosting. For example, there are no costs for operating and maintaining the server infrastructure, as this is provided by SAP. Customers no longer have to administer the SAP Commerce system themselves and benefit from greater flexibility, increased scalability, and improved performance of their ERP system. Thanks to the use of modern technologies, they can offer their customers an even better shopping experience.
The project shows once again how important good planning and an agile approach are in complex IT projects. This is the only way to successfully implement even large-scale projects – to the benefit of all involved!
