Setting up an IoT shop floor

For our customer, Europe's largest aerospace group, we have developed a proof-of-concept (PoC) for a shop floor portal as a central platform (MRO framework) with multiple applications for production control.

Shortcuts to the project

Our project for Europe's largest aerospace group, based in Bremen, was divided into four core areas. First, we conducted a comprehensive business analysis based on Scrum, established a central center of competence, created a responsive design with SAP UI5 for smart devices, and integrated isolated applications into a group-wide SAP UI concept. Technologies used included SAPUI5. This enables automatic multilingual selection, routing functions for sending bookmarks by email, data layer as oData, SAP MII transactions, MVC paradigm, and UI can be provided as an SAP HANA application.

Special feature: Assisted Maintenance Operations

The MRO framework can be integrated as an AR tool, allowing employees to interact with support without having to use their device during an activity. Benefits: Full mobile remote support, communication via smart glasses with remote maintenance technicians, omni-directional and bidirectional communication (voice, live video, photos, and maintenance documentation), and guided maintenance activities without the local presence of L4.
