Shortcuts to the project

The University of the Arts (HfK) Bremen brings together art, digital media, design, and music, and serves prospective students, current students, staff, and international users. To further improve the digital accessibility of its website, the existing site was to be reviewed and specifically optimized based on the requirements of WCAG 2.1 Conformity Levels A and AA. In addition to identifying barriers, the focus was on efficiently supporting the implementation of the measures and ensuring the quality of the results. To this end, we conducted a structured quick review, prepared the findings for the development team, and supported the implementation through to the final quality assurance phase.

From Analysis to Successful Implementation

Accessibility doesn’t end with an audit. What matters most is the successful implementation of the identified measures. That’s why we reviewed the website against WCAG 2.1 Conformity Levels A and AA, and documented and prioritized the findings in a structured report.

For the development phase, we prepared the results in developer-friendly formats and supported the external development partner during implementation. Tools used included A11YPLAN, manual testing with a keyboard and screen reader, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
