Expansion of business areas boosts growth at team neusta

team neusta increased its revenue by around 24 million euros in 2022.

Bremen, April 3, 2023 – In the past fiscal year, the digital group team neusta once again recorded sales growth – not least due to the expansion of various business areas such as sports and e-commerce. The addition of Inscript, Octagen, and neusta travel commerce to the digital family also had a positive effect. “We were able to increase our total revenue in 2022 from around 144 million to 168 million euros,” says Carsten Meyer-Heder, founder and managing partner of team neusta.

"In 2022, the effects of the coronavirus pandemic were hardly noticeable. This made it possible to focus on the further development of our business areas, such as sports, industry, and e-commerce. This had a positive effect on the group's total revenue,“ says Meyer-Heder. ”We want to continue this positive development in 2023. In particular, we are focusing on expanding the finance business area."

Ticketing solution for the sports industry

It is becoming increasingly important for professional sports clubs to create exceptional digital experiences for their fans. With hub:ahead, neusta sports offers a platform solution that enables the creation of a powerful, scalable digital world. hub:ahead has been expanded to include a specially developed ticketing solution that is already being used successfully by the Eisbären Bremerhaven ice hockey team. Ticketing completes the product range, which includes a website, live ticker, and app.

Growth in the group of companies

With its majority stake in the full-service agency Inscript from Austria, team neusta is further expanding its sphere of influence in the DACH region. Inscript offers services ranging from web-based development to content creation and marketing. Its customers include RAUCH fruit juices and Deuring.
Through its stake in Octagen, team neusta is expanding its portfolio in the e-commerce sector. Managing Director Stefan Krohne and his team specialize in “commercetools.” “We have been working closely with Octagen for many years. Therefore, acquiring a stake in the company was only logical,” says Meyer-Heder.
In addition, tourism expertise has been strengthened with the new company neusta travel commerce. Based in Cologne, the company has expertise in the field of booking technologies. Managing directors Sascha Mädje and Oliver Nökel are committed to digitalization in travel sales with their own solution.

Partnership with Axon Soft

In spring 2022, team neusta entered into a partnership with the IT company Axon Soft in Cluj, Romania. "If necessary, we can deploy Axon Soft's developers in projects to cover staffing requirements during peak periods. Our companies are very similar, particularly in terms of working methods, quality standards, and corporate culture. That made the decision to enter into a partnership easy," says Meyer-Heder. The developers are first onboarded in the so-called lab, where they complete code challenges and familiarize themselves with team neusta's working methods, for example. This ensures that they are optimally prepared for collaboration in the project team.

Outlook for 2023: Focus on the financial sector

Since April 1, 2023, neusta fintech solutions has been led by Andrea Klanke and Dennis Wöltje. Both have many years of experience in the financial sector. "We want to drive digitalization in the financial sector in an even more targeted manner.
With neusta fintech solutions, we support banks, insurance companies, and fintechs in gaining qualified customer leads and optimizing processes through open banking, among other things," explains Meyer-Heder.

Change in legal form of team neusta GmbH to a European stock corporation (SE)

team neusta has set out on the path to becoming a European stock corporation. The reason for the change in legal form is to make the group even more future-oriented. The SE is a modern and flexible legal form that is being used by more and more medium-sized companies – especially in the IT industry. "Our goal is to grow beyond the borders of the DACH region in the future. This growth course is supported by the conversion to an SE. It will make it easier to establish subsidiaries and branches throughout Europe. I myself will remain on board at team neusta as founder and CEO," explains Meyer-Heder. Other members of the Executive Board are Fabian Gutsche and Uwe Scheja, who already have long-standing professional and personal ties to team neusta.
