Shortcuts to the project
As part of the “MODA” project, the entire process of data collection and maintenance was streamlined and made more efficient for the cattle breeders' association. Our developers created a web portal where technicians can prepare their processes and maintain inventory data. We also developed a mobile app for tablets to facilitate order entry on site at the customer's premises. An important feature of the app is that it can be used offline, as network coverage is not always guaranteed on farms.
Our approach
Requirements management
The goal was to create a web portal where processes could be prepared and inventory data maintained. In addition, a mobile application that could be used offline was to be developed. This is because insemination technicians are often on the road in rural areas where network coverage is not always available.
Iterative software development
One team was responsible for developing the web portal, while another team focused on developing the app. Both teams worked in an agile manner and synchronized their sprint rhythm to ensure optimal coordination. The following technologies were used: Java, Angular, Spring, Docker, Swagger, JIRA/Confluence.
Interface connection
VOST accesses data from the Vereinigte Informationssysteme Tierhaltung w.V. (VIT) in its work. An interface to the external data supplier has been integrated so that farmers' stocks can be synchronized.
