The SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) is SAP’s PaaS solution and the technical foundation for extensions, integrations and innovations within the SAP ecosystem.

Databases and data management

SAP HANA Cloud and SAP Datasphere form the data foundation of the BTP. They enable persistent data storage, semantic modelling and federation across SAP and non-SAP sources – without physical data replication where it is not necessary.

Analytics

SAP Analytics Cloud combines business intelligence, planning and predictive analytics in a single platform. Operational and strategic analyses can be carried out using the same data source, including integration with existing SAP systems.

Application Development & Automation

The BTP development layer supports both pro-code (CAP, ABAP Environment, Kyma) and low-code (SAP Build). Extensions are developed side-by-side, whilst the digital core remains upgradeable – a key principle of the Clean Core strategy.

Integration

The SAP Integration Suite combines cloud integration, API management, trading partner management and other components. Supplemented by SAP Event Mesh, it addresses A2A, B2B, B2G and event-driven scenarios – supported methodologically by ISA-M.

KI with Joule

Joule integrates generative AI into SAP applications and processes. The Joule Foundation also provides a runtime environment for AI agents and extensions.
