CONTACT Software and team neusta Drive Transformation

Both companies are actively driving team neusta’s realignment—with a focus on AI-driven transformation, digital sovereignty, and a unified market presence

Bremen, June 26, 2026 – Following the announcement at the turn of the year that CONTACT Software GmbH had acquired a majority stake in team neusta, both companies are actively driving forward their joint realignment. The goal is to guide team neusta’s approximately 850 employees toward a future-proof structure and to consistently align the service portfolios of both companies with an AI-driven market.

In recent years, team neusta has supported numerous companies in their digital transformation. Now, the IT service provider—which has traditionally focused on logistics and tourism as its core industries and develops, among other things, e-commerce solutions—is itself undergoing a realignment. The acquisition is accompanied by the announced departure of neusta founder Carsten Meyer-Heder by the end of 2026.

Three Drivers of Change

Thorsten Haase, who combines strategic digitalization with the implementation of customized IT solutions through his company HEC and will assume the role of Chief Transformation Officer on team neusta’s executive board, identifies three key drivers of change—

the “three Ks”: the economy, artificial intelligence, and customers. “Like every other company in our industry, we have to operate within the current economic conditions,” says Haase, referring to the persistently weak economy, which is causing potential customers to postpone or cancel IT projects.

Haase sees artificial intelligence as the greatest structural lever: “AI agents are becoming employees, so to speak.” In the future, AI agents are expected to support the development of customer solutions. At the same time, customers expect a more measurable return on their investments. For team neusta, this means a fundamental evolution of its self-image: “We must evolve from a traditional software and consulting firm into a more AI-driven transformation partner for our customers,” says Haase. “To do this, we need creative people who will help shape this change.”

Transformation with a Clear Timeframe

Holger Horn, Chief Transformation Officer at CONTACT, is responsible for the change processes. His focus is on modernizing the neusta Group’s services and structure. “This opens up a wide range of business opportunities for neusta, but it also requires change and necessitates transformation,” explains Horn. He estimates this process will take the next one and a half years. The focus will be on sales, marketing, and public image, as consulting and implementation are increasingly converging.

Both companies complement each other in their areas of expertise. While CONTACT, with its approximately 650 employees, specializes in software for product development in mechanical and plant engineering, team neusta brings many years of experience in developing customized IT solutions.

Accelerated Change and New Roles

Last year was already marked by change at team neusta, as long-time Managing Director Fabian Gutsche emphasizes: “With the synergies from CONTACT, we can accelerate this process even further.” The focus here is on the further development of the software development teams: “We need to figure out how to transform the modern software developer.” Such developers will continue to exist—but AI will make many tasks easier.

At the same time, the issue of security is gaining importance: If AI creates web applications in the future, for example, the risk of cyberattacks will also increase. This is where team neusta intends to contribute its existing expertise. “That remains our job, and we need to support our colleagues to equip them with the tool that is AI,” says Gutsche. The user perspective is also taking center stage to a greater extent.

Digital Sovereignty as an Opportunity

Both companies see digital sovereignty—that is, the question of which country hosts data stored in the cloud—as a growing concern for customers. Here, CONTACT and team neusta aim to provide targeted support to both existing and new customers. To this end, CONTACT is developing its own AI models that accelerate development and design based on customers’ data—within a European infrastructure with data stored on European servers.

Looking ahead, CONTACT’s industrial customers are also expected to become neusta customers, across regions and national borders. “An investment backlog has developed in these industries. We want to help restore competitiveness,” says Horn.

A Shared Path, Independent Locations

CONTACT and team neusta made their first joint appearance in April at the Hannover Messe—marking team neusta’s debut at the trade show. In the future, team neusta will also benefit from CONTACT’s nationwide network of ten locations and its international network. Geographically, both companies will remain independently based: team neusta in Bremen’s Überseestadt, and CONTACT in the university’s technology park. From there, they aim to jointly acquire new customers—in line with neusta’s motto, “Shaping your digital future,” which was introduced as early as 2025.
